25–26 May 2024

C'était au temps où Bruxelles chantait!

back to the overview

The title of the concert might make you smile... But know that Brussels didn't wait for Jacques Brel to showcase an extraordinary musicality! Rachel Heymans and Gwennaëlle Alibert from Historische Blasinstrumente would like to let you hear.

From La Monnaie to Tours et Taxis passing by Enghien and the Arenberg family, the resources of our capital around 1730 are surprising and magnificent! Come and revisit our musical heritage and discover our personal mosaic of places, musicians, and composers, possibly being the first to hear again some of these works that have slept for centuries in certain archives...

The locations and times of these concerts are as follows:

  • Saturday, May 25th at Baixu at 8:00 pm, below the circus school at Tours et Taxis: www.lebaixu.com (But the May program is not yet online)
  • Sunday, May 26th at 5:00 pm at the Saint-Pierre de Virginal church as part of Musique Class'Ittre. During this concert, you will also have the pleasure of discovering the sound of the remarkable organ located in the church.
