Books & Publications
In this section, you can find a list of works published through Arenberg-Stiftung (Essen) and the Arenberg Archives and Cultural Centre (Enghien), among others. The scientific publications project encompasses more than twenty private publications and since 2005 the provision of sponsorship for works of a scientific character throwing fresh light on our past.
More than 100 researchers have worked over the past 40 years on the family chronicle of the Arenberg family. Initially, in-depth analyses were published by region, successively: Die Arenberger in der Eifel (1987), Die Arenberger in Westfalen und im Emsland (1990), Arenberg in de Lage Landen (2002), La Maison d’Arenberg en Wallonie, à Bruxelles et au G.D.-de Luxembourg (2011), La Maison d’Arenberg en France and Das Haus Arenberg und die Habsburgmonarchie (2019). Recently, a summary was released for an international audience not familiar with the intricacies of European history: The Dukes of Arenberg. The Thousand-year History of a Noble Family (2024).
